Sony's new PlayStation "Move" controller is used with its Eye gaming webcam, translating users' motions into actions within games on the PlaySation 3 (PS3) console. Move, which resembles a TV remote with a colorful ball stuck on the end, will be available as part of a package this fall for less than $100, Sony said at a media event.

The built in 3.2 inches screen comes displaying 16 millions colours at a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. One quarter said they would feel completely disconnected. Interestingly, Gen X women (females aged 35-44) led all other gender and age groups with nearly a third saying they’d feel completely disconnected. Conversely, 25-34 year-old men lead the response category “Yes! Please disconnect me, I need the break!” with 16.6 percent of respondents feeling they’re too connected.

The move comes as the three companies try to keep pace in the intensely competitive smartphone market, which this week will see Apple Inc roll out its much anticipated iPhone 4 on five continents. Verizon Wireless, the biggest U.S. mobile provider, said the Droid X phone will go on sale July 15 for $199.99 after a $100 rebate to customers signing a two-year contract.

While most of the world is moving towards 1080p, I've been impressed recently by displays with even higher resolution. A few weeks ago, I stopped by CanonExpo 2010 in New York, where Canon showed off 4K and 8K displays, and also talked about new sensors capable of capturing up to 120 megapixels.
